     Gold Country Gymnastics members headed to state

The Gold Country Gymnastics team traveled on Sunday to Rancho Cordova for the Zone 2
Gymnastic Championships. To qualify for state, Level 5 girls needed to score a minimums of
34.000.

Three Gold County girls qualified in Level 5. Alexa Arbaugh finished with an all-around score
of 34.850 (fifth middle A) with an 8.225 on vault, 8.350 on bars 8.825 on the beam and a 9.150
on floor.

Kyra Leach qualified with an all-around score of 34.400 (fifth middle B), including 7.825 on
vault, 9.275 on bars, 8.525 on beam and an 8.775 on floor.

The final Level 5 qualifier was Sara McCormack with an all-around score of 34.150, scoring
8.000 on vault, 9.150 on bars, 8.600 on beam and an 8.400 on floor.

Also competing for the Gold Country Gymnastics team in Level 5 were Sydney Shrader
(33.750 all around), Natalia Vinces (32.875 all around), Kylie Lamb (32.250) and Makayla
Whittington (31.475 all around).

In Level 4, girls could qualify at any point in the season with a minimum of 34.000. From Gold
Country, Molly Wilson, who had already scored a 34.100 at Reno, Nev., was the lone Level 4
qualifier.

At Rancho Cordova, she improved on her all-around score at zones with a 35.150 to take sixth
place. In her events, she scored an 8.800 on vault, 8.800 on bars, 9.100 on beam and an
8.450 on floor.

Also competing for the team in Level 4 were Olivia Twidwell (33.850 all around) and
Samantha Gobert (all around 32.400).
